Ratatouille

man - ratatouille dinner was such a good idea! Simple and healthy!

With a few items in the fridge, I made a great Ratatouille.

First I heated up a little olive oil and through in some chopped onions. While that was cookin', I chopped up the other veggies I had - Eggplant. Zucchini, asparagus, and mushrooms! Cut them into medium pieces and threw them in the pot. I unfortunately did not have any tomatoes which would have made the yummy sauce, but luckily, I did have a bottle of tomato juice! It worked just as well.

So I let that cook, simmer, as you will. I spiced it up by putting alot of hot sauce into the pot with some red chili flakes and some black pepper - and a pinch of salt.

Whaalaaa! Dinner is served!

Walking and Intervals

Four routines to walking off 1o lbs (they say in a month, i'll say 6 weeks).

1) Walk for 45 minutes at a steady pace. 4mph 4.5mph. If you feel like you can do some sprints, I'd throw a few in. A minute one every 5 minutes?

2) Hills. Walk on the flat for 15 minutes, then do hill intervals.

3) Small intervals. This one is similar to the first routine. Walk at your normal pace with more increase speeds. Or add a few more one minute sprints.

2) Steady Pace for 15 minutes. Up the hill for 10 minutes. Hill and flat intervals for 15 minutes. I suggest to get your heart rate up for one last big push. Do 30 second or 45 second sprints with a 30 second walk for the last 5 minutes. Cool down for 5 minutes. Total Time: 50 minutes.

Asics NY Store

Asics has opened their first stand alone store in the US. This store will carry all the shoes, apparel and accessories a runner would want, as well as "the proprietary ASICS Foot ID system, which includes a 3D scan of the foot along with gait analysis to help determine the best shoe for a runner. "

Check it out! and Tell me how it is. I cannot wait to go see it myself.

Spring Gear

I thought for my first post that I'd post about the new spring gear that is arriving daily these days. I am currently looking for new shoes and I definitely need a new bra and shirt.

Here we go!

Shoes- Asics or Nike?

Asics Gel DS Trainer 15: $110 These are "Updated with new features like the vaunted Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®), Space Trusstic System®, Propulsion Trusstic®, and asymmetrical lacing."

There is also the GT 2150 and Gel Kayano 16 valued at $100 and $140, respectively.

As for Nike, I'm looking at those Lunar series. People seem to really like them and I like the lightweight idea. This one is good for those with neutral to midly overpronated gaits. The LunarSwift+ (pictured) ideal for runners with underpronated to moderately overpronated gaits. There is more support in the midsole.

As for appearel, I love the Asics core singlet, and of course the new colors of the Nike Track shorts. I'm not really a fan of running in those capri tights things and jackets, but I guess you have to purchase somethng if you're going to run outside!

Why Not?

We all know that I love fitness so much, that I thought, "hey, why not blog about it?" I have friends who blog about their work, blog about being eco-friendly, their passion's for design, photography and social media, so here's my gift to the world...

Fitness.
